This small design was inspired by an illustration in the Book of Kells. It depicts a peacock like bird from the top of a column.
Very rich wool colours have been used on either a cream or a dark background. The central panel is edged with a simple border of gold squares.
The Celtic bird looks best as a framed picture and would suit either an experienced needle-worker or an adventurous beginner.
Sewn using Victorian cross stitch, no need for a frame.
