This is taken from an illustration of the tale of Bahram Gur, the Hunter King. He has taken his slave girl out hunting. To prove his love, she challenges him to a contest, he must pin the gazelle's leg to its nose. Azadeh claims such a skill to demonic and so Barhram in a fury has her crushed to death under a camel's hooves. A broad border surrounds this richly coloured design with a different camel motif in each corner. It makes an equally splendid cushion or wall-hanging.
Sewn using Victorian cross stitch, no need for a frame.
